China Stone Fruit Annual: Peach, Nectarine, Cherry Forecasts

China's peach and nectarine production forecast to rebound to 17.3 MMT in MY 2026/27; cherry production to reach 1.02 MMT.

According to the USDA GAIN report dated July 3, 2026, China's peach and nectarine production is forecast to rebound marginally to 17.3 million metric tons (MMT) in marketing year (MY) 2026/27. Cherry production is expected to reach 1.02 MMT, continuing an upward trend driven by maturing orchards and expanding greenhouse capacity. Weakening consumer purchasing power is dampening fruit consumption, which is likely to reduce cherry imports from Chile, the single largest supplier. However, imports of U.S.

cherries are projected to rebound following eased bilateral trade tensions and a reduction in retaliatory tariffs. The report was issued by the Office of Agricultural Affairs in Beijing under report number CH2026-0086.
