The grain yield in Russia at the start of the harvesting campaign has increased by almost a quarter and amounts to around 40 centners per hectare. The indicator for wheat has increased by 22%, and for barley by 18%. In the Southern Federal District, the yield has increased by more than 40% to 43.7 centners per hectare. The Krasnodar region is the leader in this indicator, where an average of 53.6 centners of grain are harvested per hectare.
The Minister of Agriculture, Oksana Lut, noted that the positive dynamics are associated with the systematic work of recent years, including the increase in production technology and the use of modern varieties and hybrids. It is expected that the harvested crop will allow the country to meet its internal needs and maintain stability in the food market.
