According to Kazhydromet, Kazakhstan's average annual air temperature has increased by approximately 0.4°C every 10 years since 1976. The most intense temperature increase is observed in the spring, with a warming rate of approximately 0.7°C per decade, reaching 0.9°C in some regions. Nine of the ten warmest years on record in Kazakhstan occurred in the 21st century. 2025 was the warmest year in the history of instrumental meteorological observations, with an average annual air temperature anomaly of +2.9°C.
Kazakhstan has been allocated $229 million to combat climate change.
